Biatain Soft-Hold are hydropolymeric dressings made of alveolar foam and 3D™ Fit Technology that incorporate an adherent layer applied in loops. When applied in loops (which cover less than 50% of the dressing surface) the adherent layer offers two key advantages: 1) It allows a very smooth adhesion that facilitates the application of the product. 2) Minimizes the risk of maceration by allowing immediate absorption of exudate through the openings in the ties. They conform to the wound bed, offer high absorption and retention capacity, and relieve pressure. The adherent layer is hydrophobic and prevents adhesion to the wound bed. It is a semipermeable dressing that maintains optimal moisture in the wound, protecting it from contaminants.
